Reliability tests | Coating adhesion tests | The blade and 3 meters of tape | Use a sharp knife to cut an area of 1MM * 1MM on the electroplating surface. There should be five horizontal and vertical checks. The lines cut by the sharp knife should be deep. Then the 3 meters of tape should be pasted on the checks and quickly pull up the tape in the direction perpendicular to the surface of the checks. After the adhesion test, the falling area of the plating layer is less than 5%. Test Procedure for Paint Adhesion should be for reference. |
Examine one piece from 5000 piece or less than 5000 piece and examine 2 piece from more than 5000 piece. |

Wear tests of electroplating layers | RCA wear testers | Using a special wear tester and a special paper tape with a load of 175G to drive the paper tape to rub on the surface of the plated part. The water plating part is qualified for 350 or more than 350 cycles, and the vacuum plating part is qualified for 200 or more than 200 cycles. Ref. Wear resistance inspection procedures》 | CR
Hardness tests | Hardness testers and pencils | 1H Mitsubishi pencils are used for water electroplating and HB Mitsubishi pencil are for vacuum electroplating. Use the pencil to draw five lines with 5mm under the force of 1kg on the surface of the plated part. Less than one line on the surface is qualified. | CR
Thickness test of the electroplating layer | Thickness
testers |
Use film thickness tester to check the thickness of the electroplating layer and the thickness should be within the range.

Salt spray tests | Salt spray testers | The product will be qualified after the salt spray test being conducted for 24 hours. Ref. “Salt Spray Test and Inspection Standards”. | CR
High temperature and humidity storage | High temperature and humidity tester | Temperature +55 °C, humidity 93% RH, duration 72 hours. There should be no deformation, discoloration, damage, oxidation, corrosion, aging, etc. | CR
Hand sweat testing | Constant temperature and humidity tester
|
Make two filter cottons wet in solution whose PHs are 8.8 and 2.6 separately. Put at least an area of 10mm of the two filter cottons on the product and then use tape to paste them. Put the product in the constant temperature and humidity tester for 48 hours and keep the temperature 60+5℃ and humidity 90%.Check them every 24 hours. If the surface doesn’t turn white or black or fall after visual inspection, the product will be qualified. Ref. “hand sweat test instructions” | CR |
